How to create a new package?

Open the "Packages" section in the new Hotel-Spider extranet and click on "+ Create package"

Please note: The package module is only available in Standard and Premium subscriptions. If you are missing the menu selection in your Light subscription, please contact us.

The package creation in 5 steps:

1) General: set the package name, descriptions and images 

2) Rooms: define for what products the package is bookable and at what price 

3) Conditions: manage when the package is active and under what conditions 

4) Distribution: select the platform on which the package should show

5) Activation: activate the offer on your WBE

Note: Settings and changes that you make in the individual steps are saved automatically.

 

1) General

Name & Description:

Internal package name	Define a reference name for the package. This name is not displayed on any channel but helps you to identify it correctly.
Public package name	The public name will be visible for the guest on the booking engine. The text can be added in each relevant language.
Description	The description will be visible for the guest on the booking engine. The text can be added in each relevant language. Here you can include all details and descriptive elements of the package.

 

Images: 

Click on "add image" to upload one or more pictures for the package. 

You can either select an image from the existing image library in Hotel-Spider or you can add a new one. To add a new one either drag and drop the image on the left side of the screen or click on "choose from computer" to browse your files. Click on continue to add the selected image. 

 

2) Rooms

In the Rooms section you define the price for the package.  

Fixed price:

Fixed prices let you set a specific price independent of your normal daily prices. 

Calculation logic	Select the calculation method for the fixed prices
Price definition	Depending on the rate selection you can now select all or specific rooms where to apply the package to. Tick the box and then enter the value for the package.

Dynamic Prices:

Dynamic prices allow you to adapt the package rate depending on your daily prices.

Base rate selection	Select to which base rate the packages should apply to. Depending on the rate selection the relevant rooms will be displayed with a input field.
Price definition	Depending on the rate selection you can now select all or specific categories in which you want to offer the package. Tick the box and then enter the value for the package as a discount or surcharge in the currency of the property or with a %.

3) Conditions

In the Conditions tab you define for what dates the package is active and which exceptions apply. The cancellation deadline can also be selected.

Stay Dates: 

If no stay dates or expeptions are defined the package is always available. You can define one or multiple periods where the package should be available. Below, you can add one or multiple exceptions when the package should not be available. For each period select what days of the week the package can be booked. To add an additional period click on "Add dates period" on the bottom of the block. 

 

Restrictions:

You can set the minimum and maximum length of stay based on the arrival date for the package. 

Select the days of the week when check-in is allowed for this offer.

Is there a minimum or maximum advanced booking deadline? If so, select the Select the appropriate deadline.

 

Cancellation policy:

Select the Cancellation tab and choose the right policy for the package. To add a new policy go to >> My property >> Cancellation policies. How do I define a cancellation policy for Spider-Booking 4?

If no condition is selected, the system will automatically apply your standard cancellation policy.

 

4) Distribution

In the last tab the Distribution you can select for which channel the package should be active. You can either select all or click on the specific channel to activate them or not. 

 

5) Activation

Preview - Summary

On the 'Overview' page (bottom right) you will find a summary of all package settings. Recently made changes are highlighted in green color. The package can also be activated and deactivated on this page.

In the upper area, select the desired display type (grid or list) and set the filter and sort order.

To edit  or delete a package, click on the corresponding icon in the image.

Offers can also be activated or deactivated in the overview.

Show on landing page: If the field is activated, the package is offered on the landing page of your WBE (above the standard rates!). Expample:

The URL of the package list is: https://reservations.hotel-spider.com/yourHOTELID/packages

If both "Show on"-fields are unticked, the booking page of an activated (!) offer can only be accessed via a direct link.

Direct link: You can generate a URL link for each package for direct forwarding to the booking page of the offer. You can use the icon to see the offer live on your WBE.
