If you have connected a hotel program (PMS), which sends the booking rules to Hotel-Spider, please do not edit them manually in the Channel Manager.
Minimum stay based on arrival day and minimum stay based on whole stay - what is the difference?
Minimum stay based on arrival day means that you have a minimum stay, for example, on Friday of 2 nights, on Saturday three nights. Relevant in this case is then only the restriction of Friday; the guest can depart on Sunday.
With the restriction based on whole stay, the 3 nights from Saturday are also relevant. The guest can not leave on Sunday, but only on Tuesday - because on Saturday there is a minimum stay of 3 nights.
You can find more details in our video about this:
Minimum length of stay restriction for Hotels - how can some OTA's still make Reservations?
Editing:
In case of changes from several days or for several rooms, we recommend to manage them via the "Quick edit". Proceed as follows for this:
Go to "Booking rules - Products" in the left menu
Click the blue "Change period" button in the upper right corner
In the new window, first select the period when the setting/change should apply:
If you want the new setting to apply only on certain days, such as the whole year, but only on weekends, select this as follows:
Of course, you also have the option to select several individual periods, if you do not want the rule to apply permanently:
In the second step you select the products to which the new setting should apply. You can click on the products manually, via the empty box, to the left of the word "Rate plan group" you can select all products with one click, or if a rate plan group has been created, then you can select the products above it:
In the third step you select the booking rule you want to set: In our example we want to change the minimum and maximum stay of our Short Stay Rate and therefore select both items:
After the parameters have been selected under 3., the fields open under 4. in which the new setting or change can be entered:
Please do not forget to save.
Why do we enter both values in the Short Stay Rate? - If you do not assign a maximum stay to the Short Stay Rate, it is always permanently visible from 2 nights. The Long Stay Rate would be valid from 7 nights and is displayed from this number of nights. We lock so to speak the Short Stay from the 7th night upwards, because we "tell" it - with the Max. Stay - that it may not be displayed beyond that.
Correctly, therefore, in our case here the Long Stay Rate would have a minimum stay starting at 7 nights. If you do not have a restriction on how long guests can stay, you do not have to enter a maximum stay with the Long Stay Rate.
In the general view, in the calendar, we see the settings as follows:
